Job Description :A growing, fully licensed Electronic Money Institution is looking for a Reconciliations Manager to strengthen its finance team. The company provides smooth, secure, and efficient payment solutions for businesses and individuals across Europe — and is backed by a team with deep industry expertise.As Reconciliations Manager, you'll be at the heart of the company’s financial operations — overseeing transaction accuracy, safeguarding client funds, and streamlining reconciliation processes. If you’re detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and experienced in card scheme reconciliation, this is a chance to grow your career in a fast-moving financial environment.Your Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage reconciliation processes for smooth data and funds flow.
  • Oversee daily settlement, reconciliation, and reporting activities for card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate logging and resolution of issues during reconciliation.
  • Maintain full compliance with client fund segregation and relevant regulations (e.g. PSD2, EMD2, MFSA).
  • Review and update internal policies (Safeguarding, Outsourcing) to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the Tech team to automate reconciliation and reporting processes.
  • Handle card scheme fees, assessments, and interchange reconciliations.
  • Support monthly reporting, audits, and internal stakeholder requests.
  • Liaise with merchants, partners, and internal teams to resolve queries and custom reporting needs.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Participate in cross-functional finance and business projects.
Requirements
  • Degree in Banking, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance or reconciliation role
  • Experience in the financial services or card acquiring industry is a big plus
  • Excellent communication in English (written & verbal)
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, deadline-driven, and a strong team player
  • Must already have the right to work in Malta (EU passport or valid permit)
