Job Description
G3 Hospitality Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Deputy Housekeeper (Public Areas) to join their team on a full-time basis.Job DescriptionReporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this position's primary responsibility is to work hand-in-hand and lead with the Housekeeping Team towards the achievement of high cleaning standards in all the areas of the Hotel, delegating onto other departments where necessary. These include areas such as common areas, F&B outlets, Kitchens, Stores, etc.The Deputy Housekeeper must lead by example in maintaining superior standards in cleanliness and efficiency, and act as the Housekeeping Manager’s direct right-hand and replacement, while adhering to other equally important aspects, such as:- General Maintenance and upkeep of the full Hotel premises
- Efficient use of Hotel’s supplies
- Adhering to the set budgets where it concerns Payroll and Product Use
- Training, evaluation and development of housekeeping personnel
- Guest satisfaction, including dealing with complaints related to the department in a timely and efficient manner, and addressing concerns raised on reviews/surveys and other department heads
- Maintaining a close one-to-one relationship with all Departments
- Monitoring, spot-checking and implementing new procedures in line with the trends and the Hotel’s necessities
- Addressing employees’ concerns via regular meetings, surveys and performance appraisals
- Determining of the department’s headcount, ensuring that new staff are made to feel welcome, properly trained, given the necessary physical and theoretical tools to succeed and thrive
- Keeping oneself updated with regular training courses, trends and management tips
- Any other tasks commensurate to the role
- 1–3 years in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and use of cleaning equipment/chemicals
- Good leadership and team coordination skills with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness
- Physically fit to perform cleaning tasks
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
