Job DescriptionOur client, a leading financial institution in Malta, part of a diversified international group, and committed to delivering personalised banking solutions across our network of retail branches. They are seeking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will assist in the management and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with management of hardware, software systems, virtualised environments, backup solutions, end-user devices, and cloud services.
• Supporting system and infrastructure availability by maintaining monitoring systems.
• Performing installations, upgrades, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and resource optimisation.
• Recognising and resolving IT issues, providing 2nd-level support, and assisting with 1st-level incidents.
• Liaising with and escalating issues to third-party service providers.
• Assisting with the Bank's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Complying with IT operations best practices.
• Maintaining up-to-date documentation for the Bank's IT infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
• Have at least 3 years' experience in IT infrastructure engineering or administration.
• Possess strong knowledge of Windows Servers and Active Directory.
• Have experience with cloud services, preferably Azure.
• Be experienced with Microsoft 365 services.
• Have experience with SQL databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• Understand identity management (AD and Entra ID).
• Be knowledgeable in VMware environments.
• Have experience with backup and replication solutions, preferably Veeam.
• Possess network administration experience, particularly with Cisco equipment.
• Have basic Linux knowledge (considered an asset).

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrate strong customer focus and knowledge of IT Service Management standards.
• Possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Be an analytical team player with an organised approach to work.
• Be hardworking, responsible, and organised.
• Hold professional certifications; specialisation in any of the above technologies is an asset.
