Job Description

An international insurance company is looking to hire an Assistant Accountant to join their Malta team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Financial Controller.Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and quarter-end processes, focusing on non-technical areas such as bank, investments, VAT, and expense accruals.
• Assist the Financial Controller - Europe with maintaining accurate accounting records and reporting outputs.
• Manage bank reconciliations and support daily cash accounting.
• Help gather and deliver financial data for forecasting, projections, and quarterly reporting.
• Contribute to external audit preparations and UK/Europe regulatory reporting.
• Provide cover for AP analyst duties related to payment processing.

Requirements:

• Accounting background or working towards a qualification.
• Delivers clear, accurate, and timely reports with useful commentary.
• Balances historical data with forward-looking insights.
• Understands business drivers, products, and customer needs.
• Proactive in improving processes and contributing to team efficiency.
