Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor / Housekeeping Staff
Location: Malta
Department: Housekeeping / Hospitality Operations
Reports To: Head of Housekeeping / Operations Manager
Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Housekeeping professional to oversee and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in guest rooms, public areas, and service areas. The role requires strong leadership, organisation, and customer service skills to ensure an exceptional guest experience while managing housekeeping operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and service areas are kept clean, sanitised, and aesthetically maintained.
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations across both Front and Back of House.
- Inspect rooms and public areas to meet cleanliness and presentation standards before guest arrivals.
- Train, schedule, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure service excellence.
- Prepare and finalise daily housekeeping reports for the Head of Department.
- Maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities.
- Monitor inventory usage and place timely orders to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to resolve repairs and issues swiftly.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and health regulations (local and MTA standards).
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Collaborate with the Front Desk and Food & Beverage teams for seamless guest service.
- Keep accurate records of lost and found items.
- Supervise laundry operations for timely and high-quality linen service.
- Implement eco-friendly housekeeping practices where possible.
- Report regularly to management with updates, performance insights, and recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in housekeeping within a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership, team management, and training skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with housekeeping equipment, laundry operations, and inventory control.
- Attention to detail with a guest-first attitude.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
