Job Description

The client is currently seeking a Logistics Junior Assistant to support the day-to-day procurement, shipping, and administrative operations within an import/export environment. The selected candidate will assist with ordering goods, tracking shipments, maintaining records, and coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely deliveries. Responsibilities: Assisting with the placement of orders with suppliers. Following up on order confirmations and delivery timelines. Maintaining purchase orders, invoices, and procurement records. Supporting supplier price comparisons and cost evaluations. Updating and monitoring stock levels. Tracking shipments and updating delivery schedules accordingly. Liaising with freight forwarders and shipping companies. Preparing and organising shipping documentation, including invoices and packing lists. Assisting with customs clearance processes by providing the required documentation. Reporting shipping delays or operational issues when necessary. Maintaining accurate procurement and logistics files. Updating spreadsheets, reports, and delivery records. Supporting invoice processing and payment coordination. Handling emails and calls related to procurement and logistics matters. Requirements: Previous experience within an international trade, logistics, or import/export company would be considered an asset. Familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems is preferred. Knowledge of Incoterms and customs procedures would be advantageous. Must be organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in following up on tasks and operational processes.
