Job Description

As the project pipeline expands, we are looking for a Draughtsperson and Procurement Clerk (BOQ'S) in a Construction and Finishes, to support the design team by producing technical drawings and plans for a range of projects, primarily using CAD software. They will also assist with construction project finances by focusing on cost estimation and preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Additionally, they will interpret specifications and sketches to ensure that design details align with project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring all cost items are accurate and complete. Analyse drawings and specifications to support cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting. Establish and maintain project budgets, monitor costs, track variations, and prepare regular cost reports and final accounts. Issue BOQs and scopes to subcontractors, evaluate and compare quotations, and assist in subcontractor selection and agreements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to improving procurement processes. Liaise with construction and finishing teams to verify quantities and ensure alignment between planned and actual material usage on site. Develop, create, and update detailed CAD drawings, models, layouts, and schematics in line with project specifications. Revise drawings to reflect design changes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards. Interpret specifications and technical sketches to ensure design intent is correctly implemented. Perform quality checks on drawings and designs to ensure adherence to project requirements. Prepare material lists and technical documentation based on drawings. Maintain and organise project documentation, ensuring all files are up-to-date and properly archived. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve design issues and coordinate project requirements. Request and evaluate supplier quotes and coordinate with departments to align purchasing needs. Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, etc.). Understanding of design standards, technical drawings, and engineering principles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards. Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of senior team members. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Basic understanding of procurement processes and principles. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
