The Technician Apprentice will join the Facilities team at the Baxter Malta Plant to gain hands-on experience in building services and industrial facility systems. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to core utilities and infrastructure supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing, under the guidance of highly experienced and certified technicians. The apprenticeship offers an excellent learning opportunity for a motivated student seeking to develop technical skills in a regulated, safety-driven, and technologically advanced environment. Key Responsibilities - Under direct supervision and mentoring, the intern will assist with: Preventive and corrective maintenance activities on building services systems Support of HVAC systems, including basic inspection, checks, and documentation Exposure to compressed air systems, water utilities, and related distribution networks Assisting with fault identification and troubleshooting activities Participation in routine inspections, testing, and compliance checks Maintaining maintenance records, checklists, and basic technical documentation Adhering strictly to site GMP, safety, and environmental procedures Learning & Development Opportunity - The intern will benefit from: Daily hands-on technical exposure in a live industrial environment Mentorship from experienced and certified facilities technicians Understanding of facility operations within a highly regulated pharmaceutical plant Exposure to best practices in safety, reliability, and preventive maintenance Development of foundational skills for a future career in facilities, engineering, or technical services Candidate Profile - Required: Interest in facilities, utilities, and building systems Willingness to learn and work hands-on in an industrial environment Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical principles Good communication skills and ability to work within a team Responsible attitude towards safety and compliance Working Conditions Supervised, hands-on technical environment Exposure to plant utilities and building systems All work performed in compliance with Baxter safety policies and procedures Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided This role is offered as part of a formal apprenticeship programme in collaboration with an approved educational institution. The successful candidate will be enrolled through the school, which will manage the apprenticeship arrangement. In addition, this apprenticeship offers a supplementary stipend in line with local apprenticeship frameworks and applicable guidelines.
