Job Description Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking organisation operating within the technology and digital services sector. They are currently seeking to recruit a SOC Technician to join their team in the Operations Centre. This role operates on a shift schedule, consisting of 12-hour shifts of day, night, rest and off days. Key Responsibilities: Acting as the first point of contact for all customer requests, incidents and alerts across security, network and platform services. Logging, triaging and managing tickets while maintaining full ownership and SLA compliance. Continuously monitoring systems, networks and security events to detect outages, performance issues or threats. Performing initial investigation and response, escalating where required while ensuring end-to-end incident follow-up. Carrying out first-level troubleshooting across infrastructure, including servers, networking, cloud platforms, and operating systems. Restoring service where possible or coordinating with internal teams and vendors for resolution. Executing hands-on tasks in the data centre including hardware installation, component replacement, racking, cabling (power, fibre, Ethernet) and supporting customer on-site activities. Supporting service provisioning (IP, DNS, network configs), planned maintenance and change activities. Maintaining accurate documentation, following operational procedures, and contributing to service improvement, automation and security compliance. Ideal Candidate Profile: At least an A-level standard of education or equivalent. A degree in an IT-related subject would be an asset. Previous experience within an IT operational/support role is desirable, but not mandatory. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Effective documentation skills.
