Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Legal & Compliance to oversee the legal function across a fast-paced international business. This position will be responsible for providing strategic legal guidance, strengthening governance and compliance frameworks, supporting commercial initiatives and leading a team of legal professionals. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will ensure legal risks are effectively managed while enabling the business to achieve its long-term commercial objectives. Location: Hybrid – Sliema Responsibilities: As a Head of Legal and Compliance, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Legal Leadership Lead and develop the in-house legal function, ensuring high-quality legal support across the business. Act as the primary legal advisor to senior leadership on corporate and commercial matters. Build a proactive legal strategy that supports business growth while mitigating legal and regulatory risks. Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders. Corporate Governance & Compliance Develop, review and maintain company policies, governance procedures and internal controls. Ensure the organisation remains compliant with applicable laws, regulations and internal standards. Strengthen legal governance across multiple jurisdictions and business entities. Support internal and external compliance reviews where required. Risk Management Identify legal and regulatory risks affecting the business and recommend practical mitigation strategies. Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of enterprise risk management processes. Advise leadership during complex legal or regulatory matters. Provide regular updates to executive management regarding legal developments and potential exposures. Commercial & Strategic Support Review, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements and strategic transactions. Provide legal guidance relating to corporate structuring, intellectual property, taxation and cross-border operations. Assess legal implications of new business initiatives and expansion opportunities. Support dispute management and oversee external legal counsel where appropriate. Leadership & Collaboration Mentor, coach and develop members of the legal team. Promote collaboration across departments to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decision-making. Improve internal legal processes and drive operational efficiencies within the department. Requirements: Qualified lawyer or legal professional with 7+ years' post-qualification experience Minimum 4 years' experience leading legal teams or managing senior legal functions. Previous exposure to multinational organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions within iGaming Strong understanding of: Corporate law Commercial contracts Mergers & acquisitions Intellectual property Corporate governance Risk management Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with sound legal judgement. Experience working closely with executive leadership and influencing business decisions. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
