Job Description : Our Client, Malta’s leading company, is seeking a skilled and reliable General Car Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a range of company vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and in excellent working condition. Key Responsibilities: ​Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on company vehicles. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools. Inspect vehicles to identify defects, wear, and potential issues and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance. Perform repairs and replacement of components including brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, engine, transmission, and other mechanical systems. Complete job cards, service records, and other relevant documentation to ensure accurate traceability of all work carried out. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop while following company procedures relating to health and safety, tools, equipment, waste disposal, and quality standards. Requirements Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience as a Car Mechanic or in a similar automotive maintenance role. Solid knowledge of general vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures. Practical experience working on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors. Willingness and availability to work according to operational requirements, including shifts or roster-based schedules where required. Licenses & Qualifications Post-secondary education or vocational training in Automotive Engineering, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, or a related field. Relevant recognised qualification or certification in motor vehicle mechanics is considered an asset. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicles operated is an advantage.
