Our client, a well-established insurance provider in Malta, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Executive to join its Personal Lines claims team in Floriana. This is a senior escalation role combining technical claims expertise with mentoring responsibilities, ideal for a claims professional ready to take ownership of complex, high-value cases. The successful candidate will assess intricate claims against policy provisions, negotiate settlements, investigate potential fraud, and coordinate with external specialists, while coaching and supporting junior claims handlers and contributing to ongoing process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Assess and manage complex, high-value, and contentious claims against policy provisions. Provide technical guidance on sensitive and escalated claims matters. Negotiate settlements with policyholders, brokers, and third parties. Investigate claims for potential fraud indicators and escalate as required. Coordinate with loss adjusters, legal advisors, and other external specialists. Coach, mentor, and support junior claims handlers within the team. Ensure all claims handling complies with regulatory and internal standards. Identify and contribute to claims process improvements. Requirements: Only candidates currently residing in Malta or candidates based in Europe holding EU nationality will be considered. Level 5 Diploma in Insurance or equivalent professional certification. 2-4 years of claims handling experience, including complex and contentious claims. Strong understanding of insurance principles, policy interpretation, and legal frameworks. Working knowledge of fraud identification techniques.
