Availability Contract Are you a hands-on maintenance professional with strong technical expertise and leadership experience? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading hotel in Malta for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the property. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, leading a team, and maintaining high standards across a busy hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities : Support the Maintenance Manager in managing preventive and reactive maintenance activities. Supervise and support the maintenance team, allocating tasks and monitoring completion. Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Monitor and maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and fire safety systems. Diagnose faults and implement effective corrective actions. Coordinate external contractors and service providers when required. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and operational breakdowns. Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules, and inventories of tools and spare parts. Support maintenance cost control and efficient use of resources. Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, environmental, and statutory requirements. What We’re Looking For: Diploma, Higher Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in hotel or commercial property maintenance. At least 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance. Experience with preventive maintenance planning and fault diagnosis. Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage. Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies. Relevant trade licences/certifications will be considered an asset. A valid driving licence is preferred. Must have authorisation to work in Malta. Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs when required. Why This Opportunity?
