Job Description

Outreach Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, an established organisation within the automotive industry in Gżira, for an experienced and proactive Facilities, Maintenance and Health & Safety Manager to oversee its facilities, maintenance operations, workplace safety and sustainability initiatives. You will make sure buildings, infrastructure and facilities across multiple sites remain safe, efficient, compliant and well maintained. The role covers managing maintenance operations, supervising the Facilities and Sustainability Executive, the Health & Safety Officer and maintenance staff, overseeing budgets and contractors, and leading the organisation's Health & Safety and sustainability work. It suits a manager with at least three years of experience in a similar role and strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills. The position is full-time and on-site with a competitive salary. Key Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment across all sites (excluding workshop equipment) Supervise the Facilities and Sustainability Executive, Health & Safety Officer and maintenance staff, allocating workload and managing performance Plan and coordinate routine, preventive and long-term maintenance schedules Source, negotiate with and manage contractors and service providers for quality, compliance and cost effectiveness Manage facilities and maintenance budgets, monitor expenditure and report variances to senior management Coordinate building projects, renovations, site improvements and office relocations Ensure building services, including water, heating and electrical systems, are maintained and faults resolved promptly Develop, implement and improve Health & Safety policies, procedures and emergency evacuation plans Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental and other regulatory requirements Oversee risk assessments, hazard identification, safety inspections, audits, equipment testing and corrective actions Supervise investigations of accidents, incidents and near-misses and make sure preventive measures are implemented Maintain Health & Safety documentation, including risk assessments, accident records, inspection reports and training logs Organise Health & Safety training, employee inductions and toolbox talks for employees and contractors Develop and implement sustainability initiatives on waste management, energy conservation and environmental impact Work with other departments to promote sustainable practices and a strong safety culture, and recommend improvements Requirements A-Level standard of education Minimum of three years of proven experience in a similar managerial role Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, leadership and teamwork abilities Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively and work in a fast-paced environment High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality A proactive, hands-on approach and a positive, can-do attitude What's on Offer Competitive salary Ownership of facilities, maintenance and Health & Safety operations A varied managerial role covering facilities management, regulatory compliance and sustainability The opportunity to drive continuous improvement across a multi-site organisation Outreach Recruitment Agency
