Plant Technician

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an energetic person to join our maintenance department as a Plant Technician where you will be responsible for processing and completing work orders being reported and as instructed by the Chief Engineer. To be successful as a Plant Technician, you must be honest and pleasant and have detailed knowledge of, and comply with all maintenance policies, procedures, and standards. Responsibilities: Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and building services equipment (pumps, motors, boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, generators, fire pumps, AHUs). Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and basic control system faults. Perform routine inspections of HVAC systems, domestic water systems, pool plant and emergency systems. Conduct generator and fire pump testing according to schedule. Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and equipment history logs. Monitor and manage spare parts and maintenance inventory usage. Follow health and safety procedures including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and permit-to-work systems. Assist in installation, modification and commissioning of new plant equipment and control systems. Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations. Support the maintenance team and complete ad hoc technical tasks as required. Requirements: Secondary school education or equivalent. Technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in plant maintenance, hospitality engineering, or a similar technical role. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and drawings. Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial safety procedures. Basic understanding of boilers, water treatment systems, and emergency power systems is an asset. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Physically fit and able to work in plant rooms and confined spaces. Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call rotation. JobsinMalta
