Job Description
Location: San Ġiljan About the Role One of our clients is seeking a Waste Management Assistant to join their team in San Ġiljan. This is a practical, active role involving the collection, sorting and safe disposal of waste across the property. The successful candidate will help ensure waste and recycling areas are kept clean, organised and managed in line with health, safety and environmental procedures. Main Duties The role will include: Collecting waste from designated points throughout the property according to established schedules Sorting and separating general waste, recyclables, food waste, glass, cardboard and other waste as required Safely transporting waste to designated storage and disposal areas Keeping waste collection rooms, recycling stations and storage areas clean, safe and organised Safely using waste-handling equipment such as compactors, balers, bins and trolleys Reporting any equipment faults or maintenance issues Ensuring waste is handled and disposed of in line with company procedures and applicable environmental requirements Monitoring waste levels and informing the supervisor when collections or additional containers are required Helping colleagues follow correct waste-separation procedures when necessary Reporting any health, safety, environmental or maintenance concerns promptly Carrying out other duties as assigned by management Requirements Applicants should: Be a Registered Disabled Person (RDP) and have a valid RDP number Be able to safely lift, push and pull loads as required by the role Be comfortable standing, walking, bending and carrying out physical tasks for extended periods Be able to work effectively in a busy environment, particularly during peak periods Have a good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures Be reliable and able to follow established procedures Previous experience in waste management, housekeeping, facilities, logistics or a similar role is an advantage, but is not essential.
