Job Description
TasksThe Local Procurement Associate will be responsible for managing procurement of goods and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness while following company policies, with success being measured by timely deliveries and achieved cost savings.- Source materials/services locally and globally, including general and aircraft materials
- Collect quotes and negotiate prices, terms, and lead times
- Coordinate with internal teams to meet procurement needs
- Place, track, and manage purchase orders in IT systems
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery issues
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, Customs, and internal departments
- Join virtual team meetings and support strategic purchasing
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Prepare procurement reports
- Flexible with hours, travel, and supporting other departments
- Promote process improvements and develop leadership skills

- Knowledge of the position and ideally a qualification at MQF Level 4
- Seasoned judgment and the ability to set priorities and take decisions
- Knowledge and ability to work in a fully computerised environment
- High level of interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills
- Strong organisational ability to deal with a broad variety of issues and prioritise issues
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
- Good analytical skills
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- A good command Of English and Maltese both spoken and written
- Trustworthy and a high moral integrity
