Job Description
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations during their designated shift and act as a support to the Restaurant Manager. The chosen candidate will act as a bridge between management and staff, ensuring that the restaurant runs efficiently, customer service is exemplary, and staff are motivated and productive.Duties- Assisting with pre-opening and opening of the restaurant
- Coordinating daily front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations
- Support in providing on-the-job training to team members to ensure smooth-running operation
- Communicating effectively with the team and delegating tasks
- Delivering superior service and maximizing customer satisfaction
- Assist in organising and supervising shifts
- Regularly reviewing product quality and assist in ordering products
- Help nurture and maintain positive relationship with suppliers
- Collaborate with management to estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products
- Assist in monitoring operational costs and identifying measures to reduce waste
- Ensuring required stock is well maintained, including cutlery, glassware, and other equipment
- Help establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures for all front-of-house personnel
- Support efforts to manage the restaurant's reputation and suggesting ways to improve it
- Assist in presenting bills and accepting payments
- Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and a professional personal appearance
- Maintain cleanliness and own personal appearance
- 40 hours a week split as required by restaurant opening hours
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends/holidays as required
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant industry
- Experience within a fast-food Greek restaurant would be considered an asset
- Expertise in authentic Greek cuisine is an advantage
- Fluency in English is required, with Greek proficiency preferred
- Professional communication skills, appearance, and behaviour
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective multitasking and prioritisation abilities
- Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Operation or related subject is considered an asset.
- European passport or working permission to work in Malta
