An international Fintech firm is searching for a Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join their team in Malta. You will be responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to the regulatory standards set forth by the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) in transaction monitoring. You will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting regulatory updates and risks to the Risk Committee. This position requires in-depth knowledge of EU and UK regulatory frameworks, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for identifying suspicious activities. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on EU and UK regulatory compliance and transaction monitoring. If you are looking to join a great firm, then please send your CV for this Malta based Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst role today!DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview corporate clients to assess AML and fraud riskMonitoring client transactions in line with the Monitoring PolicyReview incoming, outgoing and internal payments to assess rationaleConduct client sample testing in line with defined programEnsure compliance alerts are cleared in a timely fashionMaster various compliance platforms and systems to streamline department workflowIdentify suspicious activity and follow the process to report these where requiredInvolvement in the delivery of compliance projects ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approachStay updated by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publicationsResponding to queries from various business units promptly and efficientlyLiaise with internal and external parties in relation to RFI requestsWork with the front office/client services to give clear direction on customer due diligence requirements.Conduct in depth analysis of multi-party payment flows and document the control framework.Review corporate, payment service providers and merchant clients to assess AML and fraud risk.Develop and enhance existing transaction monitoring program to facilitate mass payment monitoring.Production of MI and reports to enable business to assess key risks.Support the delivery of compliance training to new members of the department.Work closely with the Head of transaction Monitoring to identify any major issues in relation to compliance.On-board clients across multi - sectors and jurisdictions in line with internal policy and external guidanceStrengthening the onboarding and monitoring controls to compensate for the enhanced risk that this diverse client base presentsEnsure the Company continues to operate within the agreed parameters set out with external partiesTo continually develop and maintain a level of compliance, fraud and AML expertise in the businessAssist the Head of Transaction Monitoring by providing guidance, regulatory and financial crime advice as requiredAbility to act as an escalation point for junior members of the teamCANDIDATE PROFILEBachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field.
