CNC Milling Operator

Job Description

Our client is currently looking for someone who will join his team, if this is something you are interested in and feel that the requirements are suitable for you, roles and responsibilities are below.Duties are responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Set up CNC milling machines by installing and adjusting workpieces, tools, and fixtures.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
• Operate machines to perform various milling operations, including drilling, boring, and contouring.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop CNC programs.
• Create and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
• Optimize programs for efficiency and precision.
• Conduct first article inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect and verify part dimensions.
• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and programs to correct deviations.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC milling machines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of production runs, including time, materials used, and parts produced.
• Document any changes to CNC programs and machine setups.
• Work closely with engineers, production managers, and other machinists to optimize production processes.
• Provide feedback on design and production improvements.

Requirements:Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or technical school trainingProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.Strong understanding of CNC programming languagesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to perform precise measurements and quality checks.Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Requirements

Education and Experience

• Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or technical school training is a must
• Any prior experience in a similar role is considered an asset, especially in 4-axis milling, J-Code or woodwork
• Strong understanding of CNC programming languages is an asset
