Finance Officer

BettingJobs is partnering with a fast-growing start-up based in St. Julian's, Malta, as they search to find a Finance Officer to join their team on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be required to work from their Malta office three days per week.They are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Officer to support their finance team with day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, a basic understanding of accounting principles, and a willingness to learn and grow within a professional finance environment.Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
• Maintain and update general ledger records
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Prepare, review, and process invoices
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Provide support during audits and tax preparation activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards

Requirements

• Currently studying toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships or placements welcome)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems
