Management Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a Management Accountant to help the Financial Controller in improving systems, provide analysis on financial data and complete various accounting duties. This role offers opportunity of growth and learning accounts aspects that are unique to the sector

• Pepare monthly management reports, including profit and cash-flow analysis, with budget comparisons.
• Ensure accurate and timely VAT filings and reconciliations in line with Maltese regulations.
• Support the statutory audit by preparing schedules, addressing auditor queries, and tracking outcomes.
• Help develop and strengthen internal controls, approvals, and reconciliation processes.
• Reconcile key accounts and deliver an efficient month-end and year-end close.
• Oversee day-to-day working capital management.
• Review billing cycles to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting through reliable data and performance insights.
• Maintain and review accounting policies to ensure compliance with local legislation and standards.
• Serve as a finance contact for operational teams and assist with cross-departmental initiatives.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role and previous experience working in payroll in a preparation or review position. Solid understanding of payroll regulation will be considered an asset.
• Experience with public procurement processes including bid costing, contract reviews and compliance checks will be given preference
• Good understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and risk-mitigation principles.

Education and Experience

• Partly or fully qualified accountant
