This senior leadership role requires a highly competent maritime professional with a background as a Master Mariner or Chief Engineer, combined with proven experience in yacht or ship management. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the yacht management team while acting as the primary point of contact for owners, captains, crew, and service providers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Team Management

• Lead, manage, and mentor the Yacht Management team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
• Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance standards for yacht managers
• Provide guidance, technical expertise, and decision-making support to the team
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of yacht management personnel
• Ensure consistent application of company procedures, standards, and best practices across the fleet

Yacht & Asset Management

• Provide full lifecycle management of assigned yachts, ensuring vessels are maintained to the highest operational and regulatory standards
• Act as senior escalation point for yacht managers, captains, and owners
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with yacht owners and key stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other applicable maritime regulations

Technical & Operational Oversight

• Oversee maintenance planning, refits, shipyard periods, and major repairs
• Review and approve planned maintenance systems, defect reports, and technical documentation
• Provide expert technical and operational guidance to onboard management teams

Financial & Commercial Management

• Lead the preparation, management, and oversight of annual operating and refit budgets
• Monitor financial performance across the managed fleet and ensure cost control
• Review, negotiate, and approve contracts with shipyards, suppliers, and service providers

Crew & Safety Management

• Support captains with senior crew management, manning levels, and crew compliance
• Ensure effective implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems
• Promote a strong safety culture and environmental compliance across the fleet

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure high-quality, consistent reporting to yacht owners
• Provide senior-level operational, technical, and financial updates
• Represent Asset V at owner meetings, inspections, audits, and industry events

CANDIDATE PROFILEEssential Requirements

• Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer (Unlimited)
• Proven experience in Yacht Management or Ship Management
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, ideally in a shore-based maritime role
• Strong technical, operational, and regulatory knowledge
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills

Desirable Requirements

• Experience managing large or complex luxury yachts
• Fluent Italian (spoken and written) is a strong advantage
• Previous experience leading teams within a yacht management or maritime organization
