A well-established professional services firm based in Malta is looking for a Tax Manager to join its Direct Tax team. This is a technical advisory and compliance role suited to a qualified professional with solid experience in Maltese tax legislation and a track record of managing client relationships across a range of tax engagements. The business is a full-service professional services firm serving local and international clients across accounting, corporate, tax, legal, advisory, and payroll. Operating for over 30 years, the firm holds licensed CSP status and works with start-ups, SMEs, and established businesses across a broad range of industries, delivering bespoke, client-focused solutions. • Lead tax planning and implementation strategies to optimise clients' tax positions
• Advise clients on tax considerations across corporate restructuring, M&A, cross-border investments, and other transactions
• Manage ad-hoc tax advisory engagements for both local and international clients
• Oversee tax compliance, including preparation of corporate tax returns and refund applications
• Handle tax audits and liaise directly with tax authorities on behalf of clients
• Deliver technical training and provide ongoing support to accounting and audit teams
• Monitor local and international direct tax developments and assess their impact on clients
• Mentor junior team members, acting as their primary point of contact and reviewing their work
• Identify opportunities for team growth and propose improvements to systems and processes

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• ACCA qualified or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
• Strong command of Maltese tax legislation and accounting standards
• Bilingual fluency in English and Maltese (written and spoken); a third language is an advantage
